Yes, the rumours are true. Google has made it official that iPhone will now have a range of Android wear. Not completely though there are stipulations, only iPhones that run on iOS 8.2 and above will support these features. Also the app supposedly works for the latest Android Wear watches. The LG Watch Urbane the most recently launched smartohone works with it. The app is also anticipated to work with all the future devices.
What happens to the older Android Wear devices?
Reports suggest that the iOS app will not work with them as they do not run on the latest Android Wear release. The latest Android Wear watches will only have this capability. This is done to ensure that the setup pairing with the iOS phones are streamlined. Older Android Wear devices are not technically supported to handle this.
The Android Wear for iOS will surely work the same as it does for Android phones, there will be no changes in that. All the notifications for Google services like, Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Now, Apple’s Calendar, Google Fit, the weather, alarm, agenda, Translate and all others. It will also work on voice queries and also change the watch face like in the Android app. Google says all these apps needn’t be installed, these are built into the iOS app itself. All third party app notifications is said to show up on the iPhone will also show on the watch. Google also reported that the Android Wear for iOS does not support notifications from any Google Play store apps, but will be expected soon.
