For all the customers who are regular users of Google Chrome, if you have a Data Saver option in your Phone, then you can turn it on any time by going to Setting > Advanced > Data Saver > On. If you have a slow connection in your phone then it will remove all the unnecessary images before it starts downloading. Once you see the complete webpage on your browser, you can later on load images by tapping on the ‘load images’ icon in the black notification bar. You will find this bar at the bottom of the display. You can select as per your choice and data connection speed. You can also turn on the data saving option which is present under the settings tab in the Chrome browser app.

The Product Manager of Google, Tal Oppenheimer said that the recently added feature will be firstly launched in the countries of India and Indonesia, while in the coming months, the Data Saver Mode option will be expanded to other regions of prime concern. However, if you have a look at the Google’s Data Saver feature deeper, it has been already included in the Chrome browser for Android and Chrome for iOS which was released in the year of 2014. This came as no surprise, as Apple has always been in favor of including the advanced versions as early as possible.

In the month of March 2015, Google had come up with the launch of the Chrome browser extension with the name Data Saver. This was done primarily to save bandwidth and help the browser to load the images and webpage faster. Other than the main functions of loading the images as well as the webpage quickly, the extension comes with a boosted security option. When any website is opened, it generally goes through the Google’s server. Thus, making use of this aspect, Google will check if the site has any malware or illegal pages.

Other than the browser, there are many other apps which make use of a high amount of data. To get away with it, Opera Software in June came up with an app known as the Opera Max data-saving application in India. This app basically compresses all the non-encrypted data which is being downloaded in the phones automatically. People who have limited data plans will find it highly useful.
