Samsung Tizen Z3 to hit markets soon

Samsung, the South Korean Electronics giant is reportedly going to launch their new Smartphone named Samsung Z3 soon. As the name suggests, the phone is running on Samsung’s upcoming Tizen OS, which they have been projecting as a good alternative to the Google based android platform. Presently most of the smart phones in the world are powered by Google based android OS.

The Tizen OS has been developed by Samsung in collaboration with Huawei Technologies and Intel. According to the reports, the new Tizen based Samsung Z3 will be unveiled by the company during the Tizen developer summit on July 30-31. The company plans to launch the new phone in the India, Bangladesh and Nepal markets where the brand has got a stronghold.

Coming to the specifications of the phone, according to the reports the phone would have a 5 inch 720p super AMOLED display and will run on the latest Tizen 3.0 operating system. The phone will be powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core Spreadtrum SC7730S processor. On the camera front, the phone will have an 8MP autofocus primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera, which should be quite ok as Samsung usually never disappoint on the camera performances.

The phone will be supporting two Sims, and will have 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded via micro SD card slot. The phone will be powered by a 2600 MAh battery. Overall the specs seem to be good and competing with the budget smart phones available in the market. Let us wait to know the prices, although we expect it to be priced in the 7000 – 9000 range.

Samsung Z3 will be the successor to the Samsung Tizen Z1, the already existing Tizen OS based smart phone in the market. Z1 was launched by Samsung in India in January at a price of Rs. 5700. The price for the phone was slashed in April and now it available in the market for just Rs. 4990. Till the quarter ending on June, Samsung has sold 1 million units of Samsung Z1 in India.

According to the Samsung’s South West Asia vice president Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj, the new OS has been getting good response from the customers and the company hopes to expand the new platform by bringing up more new phones with the same OS.  Samsung wants to take the OS to the next level and wants to give a good overall experience to its users. The company is said to have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Telengana State government. According to the MoU, the Telengana Academy which comes under the state government will help in training youth from the state on digital technologies which are based on their new Tizen operating system. Samsung India’s marketing vice president Mr.Asim Warsi has also confirmed that the company has plans to manufacture the Z1 phone in its manufacturing facility at Noida soon. Wait a few weeks till the new Samsung Z3 hits the market.
