Being the capital city, Delhi has always been in news for a host of reasons. A political state, it is constantly surrounded by various issues and problems which are not safe for common people. In its bid to help Delhi people lead a stress free life, Twitter has come up with three Twitter handles. This has been launched by the Delhi police on Tuesday. It means that the people can now take the help of social networking website Twitter to approach the city cops and some of the top notch police officials. This will surely help the people who are under danger at times.
There will be primarily three accounts which will manage all the complaints and emergencies coming on Twitter from the people. One of them will be the Delhi Police Commissioner named B S Bassi, while the second one will be the official head of the same office. The third one who will handle all such affairs will be the central control room. These three areas are going to remain the main areas for managing and solving all the emergencies.
The Delhi Commissioner says that this method has been introduced because most people are using technology every now and then. Other than this, it becomes easier when requests and complaints reach us without any filter or buffer. All that the distressed person has to do is send his tweets or text messages. If the person is not getting proper or timely response and if the case is very critical, then it is advised that the person should dial 100 and he will be given a quick response in his interest. Although this has started in Delhi, there are many other district level and area level chiefs who are following the trend and helping people come out of any stressful situation safe and relieved.
Last month, in November, it was the international NGO named Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative or the CHRI which came up with the launch of the Virtual Police Station. This Virtual Station will take care of all the complaints. Now you can witness the entire functioning of the police station and its officials. You can file an FIR sitting at your place. You are now just a few clicks away from lodging your complaint and getting justice as soon as possible.
The VPS mainly aims on coming up with a virtual police station. The people will be acquainted to a new system of lodging complaint. The person need not be present there physically. This system can be said as the first one which has exposed a new horizon for people who don’t have much time to come and lodge a complaint and people who are staying in faraway places. The police have all the rights to maintain and inspect the complaints. Thus, this system helps the police enter each system and complaint personally at any stage of its resolution. All types of complaints are welcomed and now the people of Delhi can heave as sigh of relief with this new online system, all thanks to Twitter.
