Volkswagen recently unveiled its new model for India. The model is named Volkswagen Ameo. It is a compact sedan with an affordable price tag.
Volkswagen Ameo is the first German designed sedan to be released solely in India. Ameo is the exact copy of Volkswagen Polo. It has been confirmed that this new arrival has been built from the base with Polo as the reference structure. The Only difference between Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Ameo is the extra rear boot space available in Ameo. To make the extra boot space fit within the 4-meters length, the C-Pillar of the car was realigned.

The interior of Volkswagen Ameo is also the exact replica of Volkswagen Polo and Vento. The dashboard has been given an elegant colour combo of beige and black. Black covers the top of the dash board and beige spreads over on the seats and the foot space. Foot spacing is also the same as Polo in the front. But in the rear, it may be little bit crampled because of the added boot space.
Variants of Volkswagen Ameo
Volkswagen Ameo is set to be available in three Variants.The drives are differentiated by the fuel and gearbox.
The Volkswagen Ameo Petrol version has a 1.2 litre tank capacity with a 3-cylinder MPI unit. It can give 74bhp and 110NM of torque.
The Ameo Diesel version is equipped with a 1.5 litre tank. A 4-cylinder engine is present, which can give 89bhp and 230Nm of torque.
The third version of Volkswagen Ameo features a different set of gearbox. Both the above versions with have 5 speed gearboxes but this variant sportsa seven speed DSG gearbox which is expected to have 110bhp with250Nm of torque.
Ameo comes with an integrated rear camera, touch screen audio system, auto dimming rear mirror, rear Ac vent, cooled glove box, cruise control and automatic wiper with rain sensor. ABS-EBD and air bag are included in all the variants of this sedan as a standard fitting.
Ameo Trendline is available for the price of Rs 5.39L. Ameo ComfortLine can be bought for the price of Rs 6.16L. The Ameo highline comes with a tag of Rs 7.23L. The attractive colour options include, Reflex Silver, Toffee Brown, Candy White, Carbon Steel, and Blue Silk. Ameo competes with Hyundai Xcent, Maruti Dzire, Tata Zest and Honda Amaze in the sedan segment.
