Last Monday, Xiaomi announced that it will update the operating system of the mobile to Windows 10 and this is mainly being done for the flagship Mi 4 Android smart phone in the country of China. Microsoft has been in partnership with the Chinese technology for almost a year now, and the announcement of changing the operating system to Windows 10 comes as good news. The partnership was mainly done to beta test the Windows 10 for the phone.
It was the Co-Founder as well as President of the company, Lin Bin, who was the first one to share this news with the public on the Chinese social networking website, Weibo. He also shared an image which shows a Windows 10 mobile running on a Mi 4. Prior to this, it was a capable Software Engineer of the Microsoft Operating System who posted on Weibo that the Windows 10 for Mi 4 will be released in a week. Thus, it was finally released on the Thanksgiving Day. It was a huge event flanked by the latest model with the Operating System, Windows 10, installed in it.
In March, other than working on the Windows 10 release date and its announcement, Microsoft also made partnership with Xiaomi. This was mainly done to test Windows 10 for its phone. During that time, the company had set certain plans for itself. It also said that initially it will be testing the Windows 10 version on selected Xiaomi Mi 4 power users in China itself. And now, they are ready with the product and it is out in the market and made available to the buyers.
Xiaomi came up with a new program where some of the top smart phone distributors are taken into account and they will help the company to manage all the orders well. Other than this, they also have plans of having a group of Xiaomi Mi 4 power users who will be invited to test the Windows 10 version on the phone. This step will be of huge help in the future for the company as well as the users. Recently, they had posted that the power users who will be selected will have an opportunity to download the Windows 10 Technical Preview and then install it. This will help them considerably to give a definite feedback to Microsoft.
Microsoft is going slow with its mobile manufacturing efforts, and moreover, the people speculated the partnership as a way for Microsoft to earn more. They also assumed that the step has been taken to help people reach the Windows 10 version easily and enjoy its benefits over the desktop version as well. Now, instead of releasing its own Windows phone, all they have to do is release the build or ROM of the operating system. This ROM can be flashed with the Android handset. However, this is only the start of the new Windows version so we cannot predict how far it will go and how successful it will become. The program is for two prominent companies. More of the ROMs are going to be released for newer Xiaomi phones.
Last week, several media companies reached to the Microsoft and was eager for its comments related to the program. The company said that they need more time for a constructed reply on this. Other than this, people are eagerly waiting for a response from Xiaomi to get more information about the program.
